UNISHAPE™, 3500AL, Class-Leading Contrast Ratio Deliver Brilliant Performance

TAIPEI, TAIWAN, October 28, 2008 – BenQ launched today the latest addition to the company’s extensive Mainstream Series of DLP projectors – the 3500-lumen MP724 geared towards corporate, Gov/Ed, and public display use. Superb color, contrast, and razor-sharp image quality are backed by leading-edge UNISHAPE™ lamp lighting, a class-leading 2800:1 high contrast ratio, and all-digital DLP and BrilliantColor™ technologies. Application is broad-ranging and versatile, from fully-dark auditoriums to lit museums. Numerous clever conveniences include integrated 3W speaker, multi-device audio support, HDMI 1.3, HDTV 1080p compatibility, sRGB mode, security features, and more.

All-Purpose Pleaser
Ultra-bright lumens and superior contrast levels make the MP724 a multi-purpose, multi-venue projector. For large meeting locations such as lecture halls, auditoriums, and conference halls, the MP724′s Digital Light Processing (DLP) chip ensures data-intense presentations are always bold, clean, and easy to read. For medium-size meeting rooms and classrooms, the MP724′s high lumen output enables brilliant, rich images even when there is ambient lighting for note-taking. Such venue versatility is made possible by the MP724′s complete command of color, contrast, and sharpness. Ultra-brightness is compounded by BrilliantColor™ multi-color processing, which boosts brightness by up to 50% over conventional projectors while amplifying mid-tone hues. Cutting-edge UNISHAPE™, which is specifically customized to the MP724′s 6-segment Golden Ratio color wheel and DMD™ chip, enhances color and intensity an additional 40%. Artifacts are eliminated, color gamut is broadened, and color temperature can easily be changed without compromising brightness. Users can master even greater color perfection with BenQ’s 3D Color Management – an exclusive advancement that enables independent adjustment of hue, saturation, and gain of all color wheel tones without colors compromising each other. Commercial environments calling for large-scale video presentation – such as museums, airport displays, sports bars, and casino sports books – will also be well served by the MP724.

Easy to Use, Easy to Maintain
In addition to the technical specs that lend to the MP724′s multi-functionality are smart and easy setup, operation, and maintenance features. Generous connectivity ensures hook up to numerous devices: HDMI 1.3 and DVI-I (both with HDCP), D-Sub, S-Video, Composite, Stereo Mini-Jack, and RCA inputs. A handy D-Sub output also provides support for an additional display device, while a USB connector enables attachment of a remote keypad. For a complete A/V experience, the MP724′s built-in 3W speaker heightens audience attention and complements presentations. Plus, the clever remote controls more than just standard projector functions; it lets users easily adjust the volumes of all audio devices connected to the projector, such as DVD player, notebook, and more. Operation is made effortless with thoughtful features like Wall Color Correction, Quick Auto Search, Presentation Timer, “Q?” Hot Key, Splash Screen Lock, Panel Key Lock, and On/Off Ring Tone. A long-lasting 3000-hour lamp life, filter-free design, and top access lamp door minimize maintenance and care. Business professionals likewise will appreciate the MP724′s impressive leather mixed surface and hairline keypad.

The Mainstream Series MP724 will be available worldwide November 2008.
